Lonnie Wheatley, TUCSON, Ariz. (April 19, 2008) – Charles Davis, Jr., recorded his second series win in a row by topping Saturday night's Discount Tire Co. American Sprint Car Series Canyon Region feature at USA Race Park.

Starting from the fourth position, Davis wasted little time disposing of front row starters Josh Pelkey and Bryan Swinehart en route to his eighth career ASCS Canyon Region win and first series triumph in Tucson.

Davis guided the Don Ott-powered Massey Motorsports No. 50 DRC to the checkered flag in front of current series points leader and defending champion Jeremy Sheman, with Nathan High, 11th-starter Andrew Reinbold and Pelkey rounding out the top five.

Nineteen-year-old Jeremy Reagles was sixth, with Mike Martin, 15th-starter Thomas Ogle, Ronnie Clark and Jay Ervine completing the top ten.

Seventeen-year-old Nick Aiuto, R.J. Johnson and Mike Leslie topped heat race action.  Leslie crashed out of the feature after twelve laps.

Justin Fisher flipped in the first heat race and was done for the night.

Sherman won the Trophy Dash.

Nathan High did a great job bringing the ABC Body Shop sponsored 12 car to it's best finish this season.

We are having a blast with Nathan and his family this year.

Jay Ervine ran with us this week. Seeing Jay out there was great. You gotta love this guy! Tom Ogle in the 48 car keeps chipping away. Tom Just keeps getting better, and better. We will see him in the winner circle soon.

Seann Hendricsen was moving up in the Main Event before he tangled with Brian Swinehart. The incident would cut the night short for both drivers.

"the crew" Josh Pelkey, Nathan High and Jeremy Sherman

Jeremy Reagles ran strong in the Main Event. Tucson can really challenge the best race teams if you don't run there much. Jeremy really gasses it up no matter where he is.

Andy Reinbold has been really strong this year. Paul at Advanced Engine Supply put some power in this Buckley. Andy has been really gassing it up. I think this will be Andy's best year. Sam the Pepperoni is helping these guys this year, and it's turning out to be a good combination.

Ready for the Trophy Dash

Mike Rux Jr. keeps plugging away. He would end his night with motor problems. Hang in there, Mike!

Steve-O!   Rock on, Buddy! This gig is harder than it looks, eh?  Keep working at it!  Derek Sell ran with us this week. It's great to see newcomers joining the ranks. We hope to see more of Derek and Steve-O in future races. It sure helps some of us remember our roots..
